What does this mean if the shop is quiet?

Check the bell before assuming your storyline is over. If it still does not summon anyone, record the current state and build for support. The patch establishes the intended summoning interaction; it does not diagnose every possible progression problem.

How should you read launch-day guides?

A guide written before 22 September can show earlier behaviour. Treat its instructions as historical when they conflict with a later official patch. Keep the patch date attached to any workaround you share.
