Why compare labels instead of only price?

Price and appearance answer different questions from the style-tag requirements. Before an upgrade purchase, compare the tags you actually need. A cheaper alternative is useful only if it also respects the brief and the look you want.

Which examples did the community guide report?

Fabric example Reported use
Amethyst Cotton Casual, Cool, Daywear, Simple
Aqua Blue Cotton Cute, Playful
Cloud White Cotton Romantic
Salmon Cotton Workwear
Strawberry Fields Cotton Print Flowers

What should you verify in your own shop?

Check whether the fabric is unlocked, its displayed price and its colour. Compare the relevant tag with one alternative before buying. Do not replace a requested fabric family with a high-tag cotton just because the score looks attractive. That would be solving a different condition.

Do expensive fabrics have no purpose?

They may serve the visual design you want. The budgeting question is how much you want to spend on that look, not whether a player-optimised tag combination is the only valid way to play.

Sources and evidence

Player observations should be checked against your installed build. Editorial checklists are not guarantees of perfect scores or universal unlock behaviour.
