Dressmaker Missing panels and a dress that will not finish

Use the official inventory placement hint and a stage-by-stage diagnosis for missing panels, unsewn areas and a commission that will not finish.

What does the official placement hint do?

Build 410 adds a hint when hovering over a panel in inventory, showing where it belongs on the mannequin. This gives you a documented first step for an unfamiliar or seemingly missing piece.

What should you check in sequence?

  1. Compare the current design with the drafted pieces.
  2. Inspect the cutting area for pieces you have not moved.
  3. Look through inventory and use the placement hint.
  4. View the assembled garment from front and back.
  5. Identify any still-unsewn seam.
  6. Compare the completed dress with the original brief.

This sequence is our diagnostic checklist. It does not claim every stuck tutorial has the same cause.

What if only half the dress seems sewn?

An early Steam discussion reports players missing seams on other views of the mannequin. Inspecting all sides is a reasonable check. That same discussion contains conflicting rotation suggestions, so this page does not promote one as a universal shortcut.

When should you report it?

If the required piece is visibly present and the game still refuses to progress, record the build and the last action before the failure. Include a screenshot of the state rather than trying undocumented file edits.

Sources and evidence

Player observations should be checked against your installed build. Editorial checklists are not guarantees of perfect scores or universal unlock behaviour.
