Dressmaker Sketchbook, pattern selection and design planning

Use the Dressmaker sketchbook more deliberately, including clickable component names, design planning and finding the commission you meant to work on.

Official facts and community observations labelled separately. Reviewed 9 October 2026.

How do you browse component choices?

Build 410 improves the indication that component names can be clicked. If you have only been cycling through arrows, inspect the names in the sketchbook. This is an officially documented interface affordance, not a mod or cheat.

What should you put in a design plan?

Record the silhouette, intended materials and one focal detail. Compare these against the commission before cutting. Use the sketch as a visual memory aid; a drawing is not a substitute for checking the assembled garment.

Our suggested planning order is shape, requirements, material placement, then ornament. This order reduces the cost of changing your mind.

How can you find a previous or active dress?

The community discussion about dress pictures points to notebook page history and the character name above the friendship stars. It also mentions an off-the-rack history entry. Check those views before concluding a design has disappeared. We have not verified a universal undo or save-export function.

Sources and evidence

Player observations should be checked against your installed build. Editorial checklists are not guarantees of perfect scores or universal unlock behaviour.
